Minister’s Order

WHEREAS on January 28, 2026, the Minister of Education notified the York Catholic District School Board (the “Board”) of his intent to issue a vesting order under subsection 230.3(1) of the Education Act (the “Act”) and provided the Board with 14 days to respond pursuant to clause 230.3(2)(b) of the Act;

AND WHEREAS, following receipt and consideration of the Board’s response, the Minister is of the opinion that the board, board members, or director of education has done or omitted to do something, or is likely to do or omit to do something, that could affect a matter of public interest, particularly in respect of duties that relate to the financial affairs and governance of the Board;

NOW THEREFORE, a Minister’s Order is made pursuant to paragraph 2 of subsection 230.3(1) of the Act to vest control and charge over the administration of the affairs of the Board in the Minister of Education effective the date of this Order.
